Saint-Denis station is also  known as Saint-Denis-L'Ile- Saint-Denis. It was inaugurated in 1846  to limk the capital with  Saint-Denis and to provide  quik ans easy access  to the  northern suberbs of Prais. In 1867, a railway line and 3 horse-drawn omnibus lines served  the atation. 
In 1890, tramway trains arrived, before being replaced by conventional trains. Saint-Denis station has evolved over the years to accommodate today's transilien, RER and tramway lines. 
Today is handles 90,000 passengers a day.
